Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for collective global action to promote Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) and invited BRICS nations to participate in the AI Impact Summit, which India will host next year. He made the remarks while addressing the BRICS Outreach Session on Strengthening Multilateralism, Economic-Financial Affairs, and Artificial Intelligence during the 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil.

Highlighting AI as a transformative force in the 21st century, PM Modi said, “India sees AI as a tool to enhance human values and capabilities. While AI can drive inclusive growth, we must also address concerns around ethics, bias, and misuse. We must work together to develop global standards for Responsible AI that ensure transparency, authenticity, and security of digital content.”

He welcomed the BRICS Leaders’ Statement on Global AI Governance issued at the summit and emphasized the need for global collaboration to build trust and safeguards around rapidly evolving technologies.

“In this spirit, India will host the AI Impact Summit next year to deepen international cooperation in this area. I invite all BRICS members and partners to actively participate and contribute to its success,” he said.

PM Modi further underscored the growing influence of BRICS amid global uncertainty, crediting its diversity and commitment to multipolarity as key strengths.
