US First Lady Melania Trump has issued a legal warning to Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, threatening to sue him for more than USD 1 billion over claims linking her introduction to Donald Trump with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, Fox News reported.

In an interview earlier this month on the YouTube program Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, Biden alleged, “Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania, and that’s how Melania and the President met,” describing the connections as “wide and deep.”

Melania’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, sent a letter on August 6 to Hunter Biden and his lawyer, Abbe Lowell, demanding an immediate retraction, public apology, and removal of the content. The letter warned that failure to comply would leave the First Lady “no choice” but to pursue all legal remedies to recover damages for “overwhelming financial and reputational harm.”

Brito described Biden’s statements as “false, disparaging, defamatory, and inflammatory,” noting that they have been widely circulated online and republished by numerous media outlets and commentators, reaching tens of millions worldwide.

He further alleged that Biden’s source was “serial fabulist” Michael Wolff, referencing a Daily Beast article titled Melania Trump ‘very involved’ in Epstein Scandal: Author.

The ultimatum gives Hunter Biden the choice to retract his comments or face one of the largest defamation claims ever pursued against a political figure’s family member.
