External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar spoke with Swiss Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people in Jammu and Kashmir. During the telephonic conversation, both leaders reaffirmed their shared stance against terrorism.

“Appreciate the telecon with Federal Councilor Ignazio Cassis of Switzerland. Thanked him for his support and solidarity. We agreed on zero tolerance for terrorism,” Jaishankar posted on X.

This conversation follows a series of diplomatic engagements by Jaishankar with global leaders, including Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Both the EU and the U.S. have strongly condemned the attack.

Kallas reaffirmed the European Union’s firm stance against terrorism in all forms, while Rubio expressed sorrow over the incident and emphasized continued cooperation with India in counterterrorism efforts. The U.S. Secretary of State also urged India to engage in dialogue with Pakistan to de-escalate regional tensions and maintain peace in South Asia.

The international response underscores growing global support for India in its fight against terrorism and reflects a unified call for justice for the victims of the Pahalgam attack.
