External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday met Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds in New Delhi to discuss opportunities in strengthening India-US economic ties.
In a post on X, Jaishankar wrote, “Met Governor Iowa Kim Reynolds in New Delhi today. Discussed India-US economic ties and its potential.”
The meeting comes amid renewed focus on the India-US partnership, following recent exchanges between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump. Both leaders have described the bilateral relationship as forward-looking and vital to global stability, while also acknowledging occasional differences.
PM Modi recently termed the partnership a “Comprehensive and Global Strategic” one, while President Trump reaffirmed it as a “very special relationship,” stressing that India and the US remain close allies despite momentary disagreements.
