In a significant diplomatic move following Operation Sindoor, an all-party Indian delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde met with UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, as part of India’s global campaign to expose cross-border terrorism and build international consensus.
The multi-party delegation included prominent political leaders across party lines, such as BJP MPs Bansuri Swaraj and Atul Garg, Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Manan Kumar Mishra, BJP leader SS Ahluwalia, IUML MP ET Mohammed Basheer, BJD MP Sasmit Patra, and Ambassador Sujan Chinoy.
Speaking about the importance of the initiative, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said, “A nation united sends a strong message on combating terrorism.”
Delegation leader Shrikant Shinde emphasized the strategic nature of the outreach, stating, “It is very important to give a message to the world about what India has been facing for many years, including Pakistan’s support and funding of terrorism.” He also drew a stark contrast between India and Pakistan’s post-independence trajectories, saying, “India has progressed economically, while Pakistan has progressed only in terrorism.”
Echoing these concerns, BJP leader SS Ahluwalia said the visit aimed to expose Pakistan’s disinformation campaign, particularly in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians. “We are going to tell the world the reality of what happened and counter Pakistan’s propaganda,” he added.
BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj reinforced India’s firm stance against terror, stating, “The terrorist attack in Pahalgam was a blow to the soul of India. PM Modi and our armed forces have given a befitting reply through Operation Sindoor.” She reiterated the government’s stand that “terror and talks cannot go together” and stressed that the delegation’s mission embodies a sense of “Nation First.”
The delegation’s visit to the UAE and West Africa is part of a larger initiative involving seven all-party delegations traveling to key global partners, including UN Security Council members, to present India’s unified position on terrorism. The objective is to counter false narratives and strengthen international cooperation against cross-border terror networks.
The outreach follows India’s decisive response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which triggered Operation Sindoor—a series of precision airstrikes targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strikes, followed by Pakistani retaliation, culminated in a ceasefire understanding reached after DGMO-level talks between both countries.
This all-party diplomatic effort showcases India’s political unity and international engagement in its fight against terrorism and aims to build long-term global alliances rooted in security, peace, and shared responsibility.
