In a powerful display of unity and condemnation, members of the Indian diaspora across Europe held mass protests and memorial gatherings in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that claimed 26 lives.
In Berlin, between 350 and 400 demonstrators—comprising members of the Indian diaspora and friends of India—marched through key landmarks including the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Dom, and Humboldt Forum on Friday. The protest drew significant attention from locals and tourists, amplifying global awareness of the April 22 attack.
Similar acts of solidarity took place in the United Kingdom, where Indian community members assembled outside the Indian High Commission in London. Their gathering served as a counter-demonstration to a protest by pro-Khalistani and Pakistani groups, and reiterated their support for the victims and India.
In Warsaw, Poland, the Indian community held special prayers at the Hindu Mandir and Gurudwara Singh Sabha. The event featured a “Garud Puran Path” and was attended by various diaspora associations, including Tamil, Telugu, Sindhi, and Punjabi groups, who collectively mourned the victims and expressed grief and unity.
Meanwhile, in France, members of the Indian diaspora staged a protest near the Eiffel Tower. Participants condemned Pakistan for allegedly supporting terror activities and stood in solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam attack, which killed mostly tourists, including a Nepali national.
These demonstrations across Europe underline a strong, coordinated international response by Indian communities, urging global attention to terrorism and calling for justice for the victims.
