In the run-up to the visit, Vice President Dhankhar recently met with Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil to discuss the issue of water scarcity in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu, Sikar, and Churu districts. Sources indicate that two joint meetings have already been held between Rajasthan and Haryana governments regarding the implementation of the Yamuna Water Agreement, with a consultant soon to be appointed to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR).
