Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday launched a strong attack on the NDA government, accusing it of turning Bihar into a centre of unemployment, migration, and poverty.

In a post on X, Yadav said, “Despite the Nitish-Modi government being in power in Bihar for 20 years and at the Centre for 11 years, the NDA has made Bihar the hub of unemployment, migration, and poverty. This is not just my claim but also reflected year after year in NITI Aayog reports.”

He alleged that Bihar’s per capita income remains lower than that of some of the world’s poorest African nations, including Uganda and Rwanda.

Raising direct questions to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yadav asked:

  • “Why is Bihar the main hub of unemployment?”
  • “How much migration has taken place in the last 20 years, and why is it rising at such an unprecedented rate?”

He further questioned why no sector-specific industrial clusters had been developed in the state, how many mills and factories had shut down, and why recruitment and examination processes lacked transparency for two decades.

On Sunday, Yadav had also taken a swipe at the NDA, claiming that Biharis would question why factories were set up in Gujarat but not in Bihar. He further criticised the government for failing to address crime, corruption, education, healthcare, and irrigation needs, adding that Bihar ranks last in per capita income, investment, and farmers’ earnings.

The sharp criticism comes ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, likely to be held in October or November, though the Election Commission of India has not yet announced the official dates.
