Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura on September 22, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of development projects exceeding ₹5,100 crore, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

In Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of two major hydropower projects worth over ₹3,700 crore — the Heo Hydro Electric Project (240 MW) and the Tato-I Hydro Electric Project (186 MW) in the Siyom sub-basin. These projects aim to harness the state’s vast hydroelectric potential and promote sustainable energy generation.

He will also lay the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art Convention Centre in Tawang, located at an altitude of over 9,820 feet. With a capacity for more than 1,500 delegates, the facility will serve as a hub for national and international conferences, cultural festivals, and exhibitions, boosting tourism and cultural promotion in the region.

In addition, the Prime Minister will launch infrastructure projects worth over ₹1,290 crore, covering connectivity, healthcare, fire safety, and working women’s hostels, among other sectors, to enhance quality of life and stimulate economic growth.

Later in the day, PM Modi will travel to Tripura, where he will perform Pooja and Darshan and inaugurate the newly developed Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex at Matabari under the PRASAD scheme.

The ancient shrine, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, has been redeveloped with modern facilities including new pathways, renovated entrances, a drainage system, and a three-storied complex with stalls, meditation halls, guest accommodations, and office spaces. The project is expected to boost tourism, generate employment, and drive socio-economic growth in the region.

The Prime Minister will also interact with taxpayers, traders, and industry representatives to discuss the impact of recent GST rate rationalisation and its role in strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
