The Indian Armed Forces on Sunday revealed significant damage inflicted on 11 Pakistani air bases in a series of precision strikes conducted in retaliation to Pakistan’s recent shelling and drone incursions along India’s western and northern borders, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a joint press conference, Air Marshal A.K. Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, presented visual evidence showcasing the destruction of key Pakistani military infrastructure. The damage included air defence radars, communication centres, aircraft shelters, and operational hubs across several high-value targets.

Air Marshal Bharti stated that India’s airstrikes dismantled radar systems in Pasrur, Chunian, and Arifwala, while major airfields at Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Nur Khan in Chaklala, Sukkur, Bholari, and Jacobabad suffered critical hits. These facilities reportedly housed runways, radar stations, hangars, and command centres.

“These were calibrated strikes. The goal was to degrade Pakistan’s military capabilities, not to inflict civilian casualties. If any occurred, that’s for them to account for. Our job is to hit the target, not count body bags,” said Air Marshal Bharti.

The strikes were part of Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7 following a series of drone and artillery attacks from Pakistan, including a massive drone offensive on the night of May 8–9, stretching from Srinagar to Naliya. Indian air defence systems intercepted and neutralized the threats before any damage could be inflicted.

During the same briefing, Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai, Director General Military Operations, confirmed that over 100 terrorists were eliminated in the operation. Among them were high-value operatives linked to the 1999 IC-814 hijacking and the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.

In parallel, two major terror camps—Markaz Taiba in Muridke and Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur—were destroyed. These camps functioned as headquarters for Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, serving as training and indoctrination hubs for militants.

Also present at the press conference, Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod, Director General Naval Operations, underscored the Navy’s readiness to respond to any escalation and warned Pakistan against future provocations.

The coordinated military response, according to Indian defence leadership, underscores India’s capability and intent to neutralize terrorist infrastructure while maintaining operational restraint to avoid civilian harm.
