Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday emphasized the government’s responsibility to keep opposition parties informed about Operation Sindoor, following the Indian Armed Forces’ precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Speaking to ANI, Rijiju said, “Our country has taken a big action. We have called an all-party meeting over Operation Sindoor. It is our duty to brief all parties, and the Prime Minister has directed us to do so. The entire country is with the armed forces.”
Rijiju reiterated that the operation had been successfully carried out and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intentions were clear. “The PM has made it known that in such times, there must be no division. Every Indian must stand united,” he said.
The all-party meeting, held at the Parliament Library building in New Delhi, was attended by key political figures including Union Ministers JP Nadda and Rajnath Singh, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, among others.
The meeting came a day after the Indian military launched Operation Sindoor, targeting multiple terror hubs inside Pakistan and PoK in retaliation to the deadly April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
Earlier, Rijiju had posted on X, informing the public of the scheduled all-party briefing, reinforcing the government’s commitment to maintaining transparency and national unity during times of heightened security concerns.
