Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dilip Ghosh on Sunday expressed confidence that Team India will replicate its previous performance and defeat Pakistan in their Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash in Dubai.

Speaking to reporters in Kolkata, Ghosh said, “India is playing well in the Asia Cup. What happened in the last match will be repeated this time. They will play well and win. Everyone is hopeful.”

The high-voltage clash between the arch-rivals comes with more than just a spot in the final at stake. India had won their first encounter comfortably, chasing 128 runs with seven wickets in hand. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav played a key role, picking 3/18 and earning the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

Pakistan’s spin attack, including Mohammed Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Saim Ayub, and Sufiyan Muqeem, is expected to challenge the Indian lineup. Saim Ayub, struggling with three successive ducks, will be looking to score against India’s top-order.

India’s spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel will aim to replicate their previous success, having conceded just 60 runs and taken six wickets in 12 overs. Jasprit Bumrah, the team’s spearhead, remains a constant threat.
