Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Bengaluru on Thursday evening to a warm reception from BJP leaders and supporters ahead of his official engagements in the city.
On Friday, Shah will inaugurate the Bengaluru campus of Adichunchanagiri University, underlining the Centre’s focus on enhancing higher education infrastructure in Karnataka. In a post on X, Shah wrote, “Reached Bengaluru (Karnataka). Tomorrow, I will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Bengaluru Campus of the Adichunchanagiri University.”
During his visit, he also met senior BJP leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, sharing a photo of the meeting on social media.
Following his Bengaluru engagements, the Home Minister is scheduled for a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh on June 22 and 23, with a focus on strengthening internal security and boosting development in Naxal-affected and underdeveloped regions.
Shah’s Chhattisgarh itinerary begins in Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur, where he will lay foundation stones and inaugurate key projects, including the new campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU). These efforts are part of a broader national strategy to bolster forensic science and the criminal justice system.
On June 23, Shah will travel to Narayanpur, one of the most Naxal-affected districts in the state. There, he will interact with security personnel deployed in forward areas to assess their operational needs and boost morale.
He will also engage with local villagers and tribal communities to evaluate the ground impact of central schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), road connectivity under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), and various skill development programs. A review of rehabilitation colonies and welfare initiatives for families affected by insurgency is also on the agenda.
Shah’s visit signals the Centre’s ongoing commitment to advancing education and ensuring security-led development in critical regions.
