An all-party parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad returned to New Delhi on Sunday after concluding a significant diplomatic tour across multiple European countries. The visit aimed to reinforce India’s ties with Europe and mobilize international support against terrorism in the wake of the recent Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking at the airport, Prasad stated, “We visited France, Italy, Denmark, England, Brussels, and Germany. There is strong international anger over the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and every country we visited condemned it. Our engagement with the Indian diaspora and European leaders was deeply encouraging. A new phase in India-Europe relations is beginning.”

The visit came amid heightened global concern over terrorism, particularly following the deadly attack in Pahalgam. The delegation met with senior government officials, lawmakers, and think tanks to convey India’s “Zero Tolerance Against Terrorism” stance and highlight Operation Sindoor, India’s calibrated response to the attack.

In Germany, the delegation held extensive talks with key leaders, including Johann Wadephul, Foreign Minister of Germany, and Omid Nouripour, Vice President of the Bundestag. German leaders reaffirmed their condemnation of the Pahalgam attack and backed India’s right to self-defense. The Indian side emphasized the global threat of terrorism and urged multilateral cooperation to hold perpetrators accountable.

The delegation also met with Armin Laschet, Chairman of the Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee, and MPs Ralph Brinkhaus and Hubertus Heil, who offered their condolences for the victims of the Pahalgam attack and reiterated support for India’s counter-terror efforts.

In their meetings, the delegation stressed India’s principled approach—refusing to yield to nuclear blackmail, maintaining bilateral efforts with Pakistan, and ensuring a united national front against terrorism. Discussions also included growing strategic cooperation between India and Germany in defense, security, and counter-terrorism.

The delegation concluded its engagements in Berlin with a reception hosted by Indian Ambassador Ajit Gupte, where they interacted with key German think-tanks and foreign policy experts.

The visit is seen as a step forward in India’s diplomatic outreach to align international partners in the fight against terrorism and reinforce its strategic global partnerships.
