Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Thursday expressed gratitude to his supporters and party colleagues after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out raids at his residence earlier this week.
Taking to social media, Bharadwaj revealed that his phone had been seized by ED officials, making WhatsApp inaccessible, and thanked people via ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). “Thank you. My WhatsApp is not working, my phone has been taken by the ED, so I am thanking everyone through Twitter who stood outside my house until 2:30 at night. Until 2 a.m., party leaders Arvind Kejriwal ji, Sanjay Singh ji and others kept checking on me. Our family needs nothing more than this,” his post read.
Bharadwaj also extended appreciation to AAP workers from various wings of the party. “Women’s Wing, Youth Wing, MLAs, ex-MLAs, councillors, and workers—from young to elderly—stood by us. Their presence gave my family immense strength. Many stayed in the rain all day and late into the night. We are deeply grateful,” he added.
The ED conducted searches on Tuesday across 13 locations in the Delhi-NCR region, including Bharadwaj’s residence, in connection with a money laundering probe into alleged irregularities in hospital construction projects.
The raids were carried out under Section 17 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, based on an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) linked to the Delhi Hospital Construction Scam. The case stems from an FIR (No. 37/2025) filed by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of Delhi Police on June 26, 2025, against former Delhi Health Ministers, private contractors, and unidentified government officials.
