Ariana Grande and Josh Gad have been announced as the lead voice cast for the upcoming animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ beloved book Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) and Jill Culton (Abominable), the animated musical film is slated for a theatrical release on March 17, 2028.

The screenplay, penned by Rob Lieber, brings to life the whimsical and inspirational journey from Dr. Seuss’ final published work, which was originally released in 1990 — a year before the author’s death at 87.

The film will feature original songs by Oscar-winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman), with production led by J.J. Abrams and Gregg Taylor under Bad Robot.

According to the producers, the story will follow a young adventurer navigating life’s highs and lows, staying true to the heartwarming themes of the source material.

“We are beyond thrilled to bring one of the most beloved Dr. Seuss books to life for so many generations of Seuss fans,” said Courtenay Valenti, President of Production and Development at Warner Bros. Pictures. “The pairing of this classic title with the creative excellence of Jon Chu and Bad Robot defines what we at WB strive to achieve.”

The project is part of a broader partnership between Warner Animation Group and Dr. Seuss Enterprises, formed in 2018 to adapt various works of Theodor Seuss Geisel.

Ariana Grande is also set to star in the upcoming Meet the Parents sequel alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, while Josh Gad is attached to produce and star in Spaceballs 2 for Amazon.

In addition, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation will release another Seuss adaptation, The Cat in the Hat, on February 27, 2026.
