The iconic Lalbaugcha Raja idol was taken out for its grand visarjan procession in Mumbai on Saturday, drawing thousands of devotees who gathered to bid an emotional farewell to Lord Ganesha.

The air resonated with the beats of dhols and nagadas as the massive crowd joined the colourful procession, which made its way towards Girgaon Chowpatty for immersion. Reliance Industries’ Executive Director Anant Ambani also participated in the event.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal performed Ganpati visarjan at Bhujale Talao in Malad West and later joined another immersion in Borivali West. Sharing visuals on X, he prayed for peace, prosperity, and unity, writing, “Jai Shri Ganesh… May his blessings remain on the entire world and the feeling of brotherhood spread in society.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde attended the visarjan at Girgaon Chowpatty, showering flower petals on the procession. CM Fadnavis praised the efforts of the police, municipal corporation, and local administration for ensuring smooth and peaceful celebrations across Maharashtra.

Reflecting on the festival’s conclusion, Fadnavis said, “When Ganesh ji is immersed, there is sadness that ‘Bappa’ is leaving after 10 days. But there is also happiness that he will return next year.”

The farewell rituals also unfolded in other major cities including Pune, Nagpur, and Hyderabad, as the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival concluded with Anant Chaturdashi, marking the immersion of idols across the country.
