Delhi Crime Branch Arrests Two Chhenu Gang Members, Illegal Pistols and Tata Punch Car Seized

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested two alleged members of the notorious Chhenu Gang during a targeted operation in West Delhi. The accused have been identified as Rashid alias Sonu and Faheem alias Danny.

According to a senior police officer, Rashid alias Sonu is a Bad Character (BC) of the Mayur Vihar police station area and is reportedly involved in more than 21 criminal cases.

Police said both accused were actively involved in several serious criminal activities, including culpable homicide, robbery, theft, house-breaking, snatching and cases under the Arms Act.

The accused were apprehended by the WR-I unit of the Crime Branch while they were allegedly roaming near Guru Gobind Singh Hospital in Raghubir Nagar in search of a potential target. At the time of arrest, both suspects were allegedly armed with illegal firearms.

During the operation, police recovered two illegal pistols, five live cartridges and a Tata Punch car from their possession.

Police sources further revealed that Rashid alias Sonu was also wanted in a major theft case registered at Vidhayak Puri police station in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The case, registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), involves the alleged theft of a large quantity of gold and silver jewellery along with ₹70 lakh in cash.

Further investigation in the case is underway.
