The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PMVBRY), an employment-linked incentive scheme announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Independence Day, has officially gone live with its dedicated portal opening today. The scheme will cover jobs created between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2027.

Approved by the Union Cabinet on July 1, the scheme aims to boost employment generation, enhance employability, and strengthen social security across all sectors, with a special thrust on manufacturing, Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Monday.

With an outlay of nearly ₹1 lakh crore, PMVBRY is expected to create over 3.5 crore jobs in two years.

Dual Benefits Structure:

Employers must hire a minimum of two new employees (if their workforce is under 50) or five new employees (if the workforce is 50 or above) to qualify. Even exempted establishments under the EPF & MP Act, 1952, are eligible if they comply with ECR filings and create UANs for employees via the UMANG app.

The scheme’s registration can now be completed on the official portals: pmvbry.epfindia.gov.in or pmvbry.labour.gov.in.

Calling it a landmark initiative, Minister Mandaviya said: “With an unprecedented outlay of ₹1 lakh crore, this scheme will not only generate 3.5 crore jobs but also empower our youth with employability, dignity, and social security.”

PM Modi had also highlighted the scheme during his Independence Day address, calling it “good news for the youth of India”, with both employees and companies benefiting from direct incentives.
