Political strategist and Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Sunday downplayed the significance of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s upcoming visit to Bihar, questioning whether it would have any real impact on the state’s pressing issues.
Speaking to reporters, Kishor said Bihar’s problems must be addressed within the state and not through visits by leaders from outside.
“If the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is coming to Bihar, will that improve Bihar’s situation? Bihar’s issues should be discussed in Bihar… whether the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu comes or the one from Karnataka, it doesn’t make a difference,” he remarked.
Kishor also criticised the INDIA bloc’s ongoing ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, led by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, saying Bihar does not need political rallies but a campaign to end unemployment.
“Bihar needs only one yatra, the ‘Yatra to End Unemployment’. Useless yatras won’t benefit anyone. Congress will criticise PM Modi, PM Modi will criticise Congress… but Bihar’s youth want answers on jobs and stopping migration,” he added.
Meanwhile, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav defended the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, calling it a “historic journey” that has exposed the “reality” of both the BJP and the Election Commission before the people.
The 16-day yatra, covering over 1,300 km across 20 districts of Bihar, seeks to highlight alleged irregularities in the state’s voter list, which opposition leaders have described as “vote theft.” It is scheduled to conclude in Patna on September 1.
