The Lok Sabha will convene on Friday with a packed legislative agenda, including the consideration and passage of the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, to be moved by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

As per the Lok Sabha Secretariat’s business list, Mandaviya will also propose amendments to the National Anti-Doping Act, 2022. The Sports Governance Bill seeks to promote the development of sports, ensure welfare measures for sportspersons, uphold ethical standards aligned with the Olympic and Paralympic Charters, adopt global best practices, and establish a unified mechanism for resolving sports grievances and disputes.

Union Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will move the Indian Ports Bill, 2025, aimed at consolidating laws relating to ports, fostering integrated port development, easing business operations, and maximising the potential of India’s coastline. The bill also proposes the creation of State Maritime Boards, a Maritime State Development Council, and measures for pollution control, safety, navigation, and emergency management.

In the evening, the House will take up private members’ bills (PMBs), including BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy’s proposed amendments to the Mental Healthcare (Amendment) Bill, 2024.

Committee reports will also be tabled, with BJP MPs Ganesh Singh and Ramvir Singh Bidhuri presenting the eighth and ninth reports on OBC welfare schemes, reservation policy implementation, and OBC representation in government services. Congress MP Saleng A Sangma and BJP MP Manju Sharma will present reports from the Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, addressing notary appointments, electoral process reforms, and recruitment agency reviews.

On Thursday, the Lok Sabha passed the Manipur Appropriation (No. 2) Bill, 2025, and the Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025, despite opposition protests demanding a debate on the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman defended the government while criticising the opposition’s disruption.
