Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar met former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha Floor Leader Sanjay Singh on Sunday at the Vice-President’s Enclave in the national capital.
The meeting was confirmed through an official post on social media platform X, where the Vice President’s office stated: “Former Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Shri Arvind Kejriwal ji along with Floor Leader of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Rajya Sabha, Shri Sanjay Singh ji, called on the Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar at the Vice-President’s Enclave today.”
Kejriwal also shared a post on X, mentioning that the visit was to inquire about the Vice President’s health and to wish him well.
“Called on Hon’ble Vice President of India to enquire about his health. I pray to God for his long and healthy life,” Kejriwal wrote.
This marks Kejriwal’s second high-profile courtesy visit this week. On July 15, he visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to check on the health of Shibu Soren, former Jharkhand Chief Minister and father of current CM Hemant Soren.
Posting on X after the visit, Kejriwal had written: “Today, I visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi and met with Jharkhand Chief Minister and friend Hemant Soren to enquire about the well-being of his father and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren. I pray to God that he recovers quickly and returns home soon.”
Shibu Soren, the veteran Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader, has been undergoing treatment for the past few weeks. He had also been visited by President Droupadi Murmu on June 26, who extended her wishes for his recovery and interacted with CM Hemant Soren during the visit.
The recent series of visits by national political figures reflect a phase of outreach and concern amid the broader backdrop of parliamentary and political developments ahead of the Monsoon Session.
