Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates across various central government ministries and departments, as part of the 16th Rozgar Mela held simultaneously at 47 locations nationwide via video conferencing.
The recruits will be joining departments such as the Ministry of Railways, Home Affairs, Posts, Health and Family Welfare, Financial Services, and Labour and Employment, among others. The event was inaugurated earlier in the day by Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh.
Addressing the appointees, PM Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to employment generation and youth empowerment as essential pillars of building a Viksit (developed) and Aatmnirbhar (self-reliant) Bharat. He had earlier posted on X: “We are determined to enhance the participation of young friends in building a developed and self-reliant India.”
The Rozgar Mela initiative, launched to provide meaningful job opportunities to India’s youth, has so far facilitated the distribution of over 10 lakh appointment letters.
In the last edition of the Mela held in April, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) issued 6,677 appointment letters, demonstrating sustained momentum in public sector recruitment. Of those, 1,805 were handed over physically, while the rest were delivered virtually.
This latest edition once again showcased the government’s focus on digitally connected, nationwide hiring to strengthen the public workforce and ensure that opportunities reach candidates across the country.
