Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth during the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela, scheduled to be held via video conferencing on Saturday at 11 AM, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced.

During the event, PM Modi will also address the appointees, reinforcing the government’s continued focus on employment generation and youth empowerment.

The Rozgar Mela is a key initiative under the Centre’s efforts to provide meaningful job opportunities to the youth and strengthen their role in nation-building. Since its inception, the campaign has led to the distribution of over 10 lakh appointment letters across India.

This edition will take place simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, covering recruitments in several Central Government Ministries and Departments. These include the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Ministry of Labour and Employment, among others.

In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi said: “We are determined to enhance the participation of young friends in building a developed and self-reliant India. In this series, tomorrow, July 12, at 11 AM, I will participate in another employment fair through video conferencing, where thousands of youths will be handed appointment letters.”

The previous edition of Rozgar Mela, held in April, saw the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) issue 6,677 appointment letters, with 1,805 delivered physically and 4,872 distributed virtually.

As with previous editions, all participating venues in the current Rozgar Mela will be connected live for the Prime Minister’s address.
