Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a massive public gathering in Siwan, where the PM laid the foundation stone and inaugurated key development projects spanning water, rail, and power sectors.
Highlighting the transformation since the NDA government came to power in Bihar in 2005, Nitish Kumar said, “We have done a lot for Bihar since then. But the governments before us only made hollow statements. People were afraid to even step out of their homes. Just look at this massive crowd gathered today for PM Modi — have you ever seen such a turnout before?”
Taking a swipe at the opposition, Kumar criticized previous administrations for neglecting the state’s development. He credited the current NDA regime for bringing progress and stability to Bihar.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chowdhary also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for launching and inaugurating development projects worth ₹6,000 crore, including major works under the Namami Gange programme.
“PM Modi keeps gifting development to Bihar every time he visits. We are thankful to him and hope he continues visiting. Bihar eagerly awaits his presence,” said Chowdhary.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi conducted a roadshow in Siwan and addressed the enthusiastic crowd ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The Prime Minister’s visit is being viewed as a significant political and developmental push in the run-up to the polls.
