PM Modi Departs for Croatia After Productive Canada Visit and G7 Summit Participation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his visit to Canada after attending the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta, and departed for Croatia on Tuesday. In a message shared on social media, PM Modi described his time in Canada as “productive” and thanked the Canadian government and people for their hospitality.

“Concluding a productive Canada visit. Thankful to the Canadian people and Government for hosting a successful G7 Summit, which witnessed fruitful discussions on diverse global issues. We remain committed to furthering global peace, prosperity and sustainability,” PM Modi posted on X.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also highlighted the impact of the visit, noting that the Prime Minister held key discussions on global energy security, technological innovation, and bilateral relations with several world leaders. “Next stop—Croatia,” the MEA added in its post.

PM Modi arrived at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge for the G7 Summit where he was received by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. During the summit, PM Modi held a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings aimed at enhancing India’s global partnerships and advocating for the interests of the Global South.

Among the prominent leaders he engaged with were Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission; Antonio Costa, President of the European Council; South African President Cyril Ramaphosa; and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. In his conversations with leaders from Brazil and South Africa, PM Modi reaffirmed their joint commitment to advancing the priorities of developing nations.

Throughout the summit, Prime Minister Modi emphasized India’s role as a key voice for peace, prosperity, and sustainability on the global stage, underscoring the country’s readiness to collaborate on pressing global challenges.
