An all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha arrived in Singapore on Tuesday and held a meeting with Indian High Commissioner Ambassador Shilpak Ambule. The visit marks a key stop in India’s global diplomatic outreach to build consensus against terrorism.
According to the High Commission of India in Singapore, the delegation will hold wide-ranging discussions with Singaporean ministers, parliamentarians, think tanks, academics, business leaders, media representatives, and members of the Indian diaspora. The primary objective is to convey India’s national consensus and collective resolve against terrorism.
In a post on X, the High Commission stated: “All-Party Parliamentary Delegation led by Hon’ble MP Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha arrived in Singapore. The delegation will meet with Singaporean Ministers, Members of Parliament, representatives of think-tanks, academia, businesses, media and the Indian community to convey India’s national consensus and collective resolve against terrorism.”
This visit follows the delegation’s earlier stop in Seoul, where Sanjay Kumar Jha called out Pakistan’s long-standing support for cross-border terrorism. Referring to the brutal killing of 26 tourists in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, Jha noted that the attackers were trained, funded, and harboured by Pakistan.
The multi-party delegation includes MPs from across the political spectrum, including Aparajita Sarangi (BJP), Abhishek Banerjee (TMC), Brij Lala (BJP), John Brittas (CPI-M), Pradan Baruah (BJP), Hemang Joshi (BJP), Salman Khurshid (Congress), and Mohan Kumar.
This visit is part of a broader diplomatic campaign launched by the Indian government under Operation Sindoor, initiated on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The operation involved forming seven all-party delegations to carry India’s message of zero tolerance for terrorism to key global capitals.
Indian forces launched a decisive counter-offensive under Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, neutralising over 100 terrorists affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
The Singapore visit is a continuation of India’s effort to rally international support for a coordinated stance against state-sponsored terrorism.
