Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was once again the target of a death threat, with Mumbai Police confirming that an unidentified individual sent a chilling message on Sunday, warning of plans to either barge into the actor’s home or blow up his car with a bomb.
According to police sources, the threat was delivered via WhatsApp to the Transport Department in Mumbai’s Worli area. The message directly named Salman Khan and issued a warning of lethal action.
“Threat sent to WhatsApp number of Transport Department in Worli, Mumbai. Actor Salman Khan was threatened with death by barging into his house. There was also a threat to blow up Salman Khan’s car with a bomb,” Mumbai Police said in a statement.
The Worli Police have registered a case against the unidentified sender and have begun investigations to trace the origin of the message.
This isn’t the first time the actor has received such threats. In November last year, Mumbai Police confirmed they had received a message allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which gave Salman Khan an ultimatum: either apologize at their “temple” or pay ₹5 crore to avoid being killed.
“If he does not do so, we will kill him. Our gang is still active,” the message, reportedly from Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, read.
Just days before that incident, another threat demanding ₹2 crore in ransom was also sent to the actor, further escalating security concerns.
Mumbai Police are taking the latest threat seriously, especially given the ongoing risks associated with high-profile individuals. Salman Khan has been under enhanced security in recent years due to repeated threats linked to criminal gangs.
