Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday conveyed his greetings to the nation on the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri, wishing that the sacred festival brings renewed strength, devotion, and faith into people’s lives.

Taking to X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Infinite Navratri greetings to all of you. May this sacred festival, filled with devotion, courage, restraint, and determination, bring new strength and new faith into everyone’s life. Jai Mata Di.”

Highlighting the significance of the first day of Navratri, PM Modi noted that it is dedicated to Maa Shailputri. “My wish is that, with the Mata’s affection and blessings, everyone’s life may be filled with good fortune and good health,” he added.

Sharadiya Navratri, observed in the lunar month of Ashwin, is celebrated over nine nights in honour of Goddess Durga and her nine forms, each representing different aspects of strength, compassion, and wisdom. The festival is marked by fasting, prayers, devotional music, Garba, and Dandiya, creating a vibrant spiritual and cultural atmosphere.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will visit Tripura to perform pooja and darshan and inaugurate the redevelopment of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex at Matabari.

PM Modi’s two-state tour will also include Arunachal Pradesh, where he will lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹5,100 crore in Itanagar and address a public gathering.
