Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Sunday strongly condemned RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav following the circulation of a video in which a man allegedly hurled abuses at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an RJD public event in Bihar.
Rai shared the video on X, claiming the incident occurred in the presence of Tejashwi. Addressing the media, he likened Tejashwi to mythological figures Kansa and Kaliya Naag, warning that the public would deliver a “befitting reply” in the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly elections.
“Tejashwi Yadav’s goons have committed a grave sin by abusing PM Narendra Modi and his revered mother in front of him. Tejashwi, we will destroy you like Kansa. The people of Bihar will soon destroy you with their votes. You are spewing venom like the Kaliya Naag,” Rai said.
He further criticised Tejashwi for repeated insults against the Prime Minister, recalling RJD’s opposition to the 1990 Ram Rath Yatra and promising that the NDA would defeat him in his Raghopur constituency.
Rai also accused the RJD of fostering “jungle raj” and corruption in Bihar, saying, “The corrupt Tejashwi-Lalu family, who protects criminals, has perhaps made abuse their etiquette and culture. Now your destruction is near. The people of Bihar are ready and determined to destroy Tejashwi and Rahul.”
Earlier, a similar video had sparked a political row in the state, prompting the NDA to announce a statewide bandh on September 4. These tensions have escalated ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the dates for which are yet to be announced by the Election Commission of India.
