Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Wednesday emphasised that Bihar is in need of change, hinting at a shift in government following the upcoming Assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters, Khurshid said, “The CWC meeting is happening after years in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi and others have worked diligently to bring about change. Bihar needs change. It is very clear.” Congress leader M Veerappa Moily highlighted rising anti-incumbency against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the “double-engine” government, adding that people’s dissatisfaction over poverty and governance would influence the elections.

Former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel referenced Rahul Gandhi’s earlier remarks on caste census and alleged vote theft, suggesting a major political announcement is awaited. NSUI in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar criticised the state government, asserting that addressing “vote theft” is crucial to safeguarding democracy and tackling issues like inflation, unemployment, and migration.

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting is being held at Sadaqat Ashram, Patna, with senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and party president Mallikarjun Kharge in attendance, as the party strategises ahead of the Bihar polls expected by the end of 2025.
