PM Modi to Inaugurate Rs 34,200 Crore Maritime and Development Projects in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat today to participate in the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme and inaugurate or lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 34,200 crore, an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Speaking on X, PM Modi termed the day “important for India’s maritime sector and our quest for self-reliance,” adding that key policies related to shipping and port development will also be highlighted during the event in Bhavnagar at 10:30 AM.

As part of the visit, the Prime Minister will undertake an aerial survey of Dholera, chair a review meeting around 1:30 PM, and visit the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at Lothal.

In a major boost to India’s maritime infrastructure, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 7,870 crore, including:

Beyond maritime projects, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of central and state government initiatives worth over Rs 26,354 crore in sectors such as renewable energy, healthcare, infrastructure, and urban development. Key projects include:

The Prime Minister will review the progress of the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), a greenfield industrial city focused on sustainable industrialisation and smart infrastructure. He will also visit the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal, being developed at a cost of around Rs 4,500 crore, aimed at preserving India’s maritime legacy while promoting tourism, education, research, and skill development.
