Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on his 75th birthday, lauding him for devoting his life to strengthening the values of equality, harmony, and brotherhood.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote: “Mohan Bhagwat ji has dedicated his entire life to strengthening the spirit of equality, harmony, and brotherhood, inspired by the mantra of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. On the special occasion of his 75th birthday, I extend my heartfelt wishes for his long and healthy life.”

Mohan Bhagwat, who became the Sarsanghchalak (chief) of the RSS in 2009, has played a key role in shaping the organisation. Before this, he served as General Secretary from 2000.

In a blog dedicated to Bhagwat, PM Modi reflected on his decades of work:

The Prime Minister highlighted Bhagwat’s leadership as a period of transformative change for the RSS, noting reforms such as the change in uniform and updates to the Sangh Shiksha Varg (training camps).

PM Modi also recalled Bhagwat’s role during the COVID-19 crisis, when he guided RSS volunteers to prioritise social service, safety, and the use of technology, leading to widespread relief work across the country.

Calling the role of Sarsanghchalak a “sacred trust” passed down through generations, PM Modi praised Bhagwat for bringing intellectual depth, personal sacrifice, and compassionate leadership to the position.
