A nine-member all-party Indian parliamentary delegation, led by senior BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, arrived in Berlin on Thursday as part of India’s diplomatic outreach under Operation Sindoor, reaffirming the country’s unified and zero-tolerance stance against terrorism. The delegation was welcomed by India’s Ambassador to Germany, Ajit Gupte.

In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Germany said, “The All-Party Parliamentary Delegation led by Hon’ble MP Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad arrived in Berlin on June 5, 2025. Amb @AjitVGupte welcomed the 9-member delegation, which will convey India’s united and resolute stand against terrorism.”

The visit to Germany follows the delegation’s stop in Belgium, where strong concerns were raised about growing global terror threats. During their stay in Berlin (June 5–7), the delegation will engage with senior German lawmakers, officials from the Federal Foreign Office, policy think tanks, and members of the Indian diaspora.

The delegation includes prominent parliamentarians from across political lines—BJP MPs Daggubati Purandeswari, MJ Akbar, Gulam Ali Khatana, and Samik Bhattacharya; Congress MP Amar Singh; Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Priyanka Chaturvedi; AIADMK MP M Thambidurai; and former diplomat Pankaj Saran.

Ravi Shankar Prasad emphasized that India represents the voice of victims of terrorism and described the outreach as a “very satisfying” effort. Recalling their discussions in Brussels, he said, “We highlighted how Pakistan is run by a military-terrorist coalition, which threatens democracy and humanity. We asked whether the victims of terrorism have human rights. India is their voice.”

Former Deputy NSA Pankaj Saran said the visit reflected Europe’s growing recognition of India as a significant geopolitical and economic force. “India now looms large in the European Union’s strategic outlook,” he noted, also emphasizing the EU’s interest in fast-tracking a free trade agreement with India.

The diplomatic initiative comes in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, carried out by Pakistan-backed militants, which killed 26 and injured dozens. In response, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, conducting precise retaliatory strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, eliminating over 100 militants linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

This ongoing outreach seeks to galvanize global support for India’s anti-terror campaign and highlight the security challenges posed by cross-border terrorism.
