As part of its global outreach under Operation Sindoor, an all-party parliamentary delegation led by JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha arrived in Tokyo and began the day by offering floral tributes at the bust of Mahatma Gandhi. The solemn ceremony featured a rendition of “Vaishnava Jana To” by a children’s choir, echoing Gandhi’s enduring message of peace as India reasserts its stance against cross-border terrorism.

Following a detailed briefing from Indian Ambassador to Japan Sibi George, the delegation prepared for a series of diplomatic meetings with Japanese government officials, parliamentarians, think tanks, and the media, focused on strengthening global support against terrorism.

“We will present the Indian government and PM Modi’s stand on the new normal — that Pakistan-sponsored terrorism will be met with a resolute response,” said MP Sanjay Jha. “We dismantled nine terror camps without harming military or civilian infrastructure. The world must unite to eliminate the roots of terrorism. Pakistan has made terrorism its state policy, and the world knows it — Osama bin Laden was found there.”

The delegation includes nine members: Ambassador Mohan Kumar, BJP MPs Dr Hemang Joshi, Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, and Pradan Baruah, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. They are visiting Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore to highlight India’s counterterrorism efforts following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

CPI(M) MP John Brittas emphasized the goal of rallying support from democratic allies: “We will deliver a clear message that India is united against terror and hopes Japan will stand with us in this global fight.”

Ambassador Sibi George noted that Japan was among the first countries to condemn the Pahalgam attack, underscoring the strength of Indo-Japanese relations.

“The delegation is here to frame how India engages its Japanese interlocutors on terrorism. We aim to amplify India’s unwavering stance as demonstrated in Operation Sindoor,” said the Ambassador.

India launched Operation Sindoor in response to the April 22 attack, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK) through precision strikes. Tensions de-escalated after military talks led to a ceasefire agreement.

The ongoing diplomatic tour aims to expose Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terrorism and position India’s assertive doctrine as the “new normal” in global counterterrorism efforts.
